Dr. Troy Griffiths, DPM, has recently been certified by the American Board of Wound Healing. This certification demonstrates a physician’s professionalism and excellent clinical skills in providing quality patient care in the field of wound management and wound healing. Physicians who hold this certification have demonstrated high levels of clinical competence in this discipline. Dr. Griffiths is the only physician in the state of Colorado who is board certified with both the American Board of Wound Healing and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. With these two distinguished certifications, Dr. Griffiths adds over twenty years of clinical experience in dealing with complex lower extremity wounds and limb salvage.
“Chronic wounds that have not responded to conventional therapies are often associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins, Diabetes and other systemic medical conditions. Non-healing wounds often lead to a lower quality of life and ultimately can lead to lower extremity amputations. When chronic wounds are present, a specialized approach is mandatory to optimize a fighting chance for effective healing. At Colorado Canyons Hospital Wound Healing Center I am able to offer advanced industry leading treatment options including stem cell therapies, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and bio-synthetics. Each patient is thoroughly evaluated and a customized wound treatment plan is developed to maximize wound healing potential”, says Dr. Griffiths.
After graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1993, Dr. Griffiths trained at Stanford University Medical Center completing a Podiatric Surgical Residency. He has been practicing in Western Colorado for the past twenty-two years, and is currently the Medical Director of the Wound Healing Center at Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center and practices at Balanced Rock Foot and Ankle.
