Elizabeth Mensing, M.D., Bolsters Emergency Team at Colorado Canyons Hospital

Elizabeth Mensing, M.D., recently joined the Emergency Department at Colorado Canyons Hospital & Medical Center (CCHMC) and Family Health West in Fruita. Dr. Mensing is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and will be working on trauma and other emergent cases in the Emergency Department.

“I love being a doctor. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel fortunate to have ‘found my bliss’ in this life work,” said Dr. Mensing. “The environment at CCHMC is uniquely kind and supportive of patients and staff. I have the honor of serving a great community and working with a terrific group of colleagues.”

Elizabeth Mensing, M.D. recently joined the Emergency Department at Colorado Canyons Hospital & Medical Center and Family Health West in Fruita. In that role, she will be working on trauma and other emergency cases that arrive at the hospital.

Dr. Mensing received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency in family medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital. Following residency, she worked in family medicine, geriatrics, and then emergency medicine. For the past few years, Dr. Mensing has been on the medical staff at Colorado Canyons Hospital Emergency Department and is delighted to now be hired on directly by the organization.

“Our Emergency Department has become one of our top priorities,” said Family Health West President and CEO, Mark J. Francis. “The addition of Dr. Mensing helps us better meet the needs of Lower Valley residents and we’re glad she’s part of the Family Health West team.”

Outside of work, Dr. Mensing enjoys spending time with her mother and husband, whom she considers her two best friends. They enjoy traveling whenever possible and always have some project to share at their house and property. “We love the activities this beautiful state has to offer—biking, hiking, winter sports, wineries, and the list goes on,” said Dr. Mensing. “We never wonder what there is to do next!”
