Family Health West is pleased to announce Lennie Ecker as the new inpatient director of Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center.
Lennie graduated from Pagosa Springs High School in 1994 and attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado for two semesters before joining the Colorado National Guard and going on active duty for the United States Army in 1998. While serving, Lennie became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and served at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged in 2006 and attended Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) with a focus in fine art and literature. He then applied to the nursing program and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in December 2010.
Lennie has experience working in long-term care, med-surge, ICU, and emergency services. “I joined Family Health West in 2014 and I look forward to watching Family Health West grow and be a model for other organizations,” said Lennie. “My focus is on individual growth and development of staff. I feel that investing in the individual is the best way to foster the growth of the organization. Good customer and community service starts when the individual needs are met.”
“We are thrilled to have Lennie take the lead in the inpatient department of our hospital,” said Family Health West Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Lori Randall. “His experience, vision and commitment to exceptional care are what make him ideal for this new role.”
In his free time, Lennie enjoys painting, reading, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
