Family Health West recently welcomed several professionals to the board of trustees and elected officers for the 2016 year – Blaine Buck of Bighorn Consulting Engineers, Chair; Ken Palmer of Palmer Tax and Consulting P.C., Vice Chair; Tom Oliver of Alpine Bank, Treasurer; Michael Neste, MD of Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center, Chief of Medical Staff; Lindsay Gray of Arbonne International, Trustee; Vanessa McClellan, DO of Western Valley Family Practice, Trustee.
Blaine Buck has been living in Colorado since 1971 and moved to Fruita in 2001 with his wife Lori Buck, the current mayor of Fruita. He is a consulting engineer and started Bighorn Consulting Engineers in 2003. When Blaine is not serving his community, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. Blaine joined the board in January 2015 and was elected to the role of chair in December.
Ken Palmer operates Palmer Tax and Consulting P.C. in Fruita and has served on the board of trustees since January 2013. Ken stays involved in the community by doing services such as working with young men as a Venturer Advisor in the Boy Scouts of America. He was elected vice chair of the board in January 2014 and continues to serve in that role.
Tom Oliver is native to the Grand Valley as he was born and raised in Grand Junction. He is the manager of the Alpine Bank in Fruita and has previously served on several boards throughout the community to include the Fruita Chamber of Commerce. Tom has been an active member of the board of trustees since January 2013 and was elected to the role of treasurer in December.
Dr. Michael Neste joined the Family Health West team as the medical director of radiology in June 2014. Dr. Neste is originally from Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota for medical school. He then completed his residency and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Michigan. He was appointed chief of medical staff in January 2016.
Lindsay Gray is a Fruita native with long-standing roots in the community. Most of her professional career has been in member services, recruitment and event planning with additional experience in the political arena working for legislators. She is currently an independent consultant with Arbonne International. Lindsay and her husband are getting ready to welcome their first baby in June. She joined the board of trustees in January 2016.
Dr. Vanessa McClellan moved to the Grand Valley to train in family medicine after attending medical school at Touro University in Henderson, Nevada. She completed her residency at St. Mary’s Family Medicine in 2013 and joined Western Valley Family Practice in September of that year. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her family and their two dogs. Dr. McClellan became a new addition to the board of trustees in February 2016.
