Tracie White, RN, recently joined Colorado Canyons Hospital & Medical Center (CCHMC) and Family Health West in Fruita as their Quality Coordinator. Tracie has more than 20 years’ experience in the health industry, most recently working as the Director/Administrator for Human Touch Home Health.
“By fate, I found what I consider the perfect job at Family Health West,” said Tracie. “As soon as I walked through the doors for my first interview, it felt like I was home and I just had to be a part of Family Health West. I am so grateful for the opportunity to return to the hospital setting and expand my quality career at Colorado Canyons.”
Tracie first started working in health care at St. Mary’s Hospital as an EKG technician/telemetry technician before receiving her nursing degree from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University). She cross-trained in the home care department, specializing in care of the cardiac and oncology patients, when she had an opportunity to lead a team in the Medicare National Demonstration Project for OASIS/OBQI. After St. Mary’s closed their home care program, Tracie moved on to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado (HopeWest) as a Quality/Clinical Manager.
“Providing quality care is our top priority,” said Family Health West President and CEO, Mark J. Francis. “Tracie brings a long history of experience to the position so that we can grow our quality scores as we expand our care to more patients in the Lower Valley.”
Outside of work, Tracie’s biggest passion is Argentine tango to the point that she and her husband built a garage with a dance floor. They host milongas (dances) and have brought great teachers from Denver and Buenos Aires for weekend workshops to the little town of Fruita. “We enjoy tango vacations with our best friends, being pet parents to two furry dogs, and leisurely bike rides on the Riverfront Trail,” states Tracie.
