Through the struggles, Family Health West took a giant leap in 2024. In February, our claims processor sustained a cyber-attack, which halted our ability to electronically send, and receive, claims. The impact was significant. Claims piled up. Our only out was to manually log into insurance portals. What did our amazing employees do? They stepped up to the challenge, working together to sort, prioritize and work through the downtime. By June, Family Health West was back online and recovered. The second half of 2024 also tested our endurance. Family Health West consolidated our multiple electronic health records into one system, called Epic. Consolidating and changing everything across the entire hospital and clinics was enormous undertaking. What did our amazing employees do? They again stepped up to the challenge. They added training and meetings to their already busy schedules, worked through glitches, and fix errors. It was not easy, but Family Health West endured. The resilience of Family Health West and our wonderful staff never stops amazing me. We step up to challenges. No matter the obstacles put in front of us, we continue to be there to deliver compassionate care to each and every patient. We provide comfort to the caregivers.
