Dr. Klein Recognized As Most Inspiring Leader

Family Health West CEO Honored Last Night

Sitting in the audience at the national Custom Learning Systems (CLS) conference closing ceremony awards banquet last night was the contingency of Family Health West (FHW) staff. While a surprise in the moment, it’s well deserved recognition that Dr. Korrey Klein, FHW President and CEO, was named most Inspiring Leader.

“His actions prove that he is committed to FHW and to the employees of this great organization,” Lori Randall, Executive Vice President of Operations, said. “It is hard to find this kind of leader in healthcare today. It’s an honor to work with a leader like Dr. Klein and I am happy and proud that he is the recipient of this award.”

In 2020, FHW engaged with CLS to bring a customer service program that is a self improvement method and philosophy to change employment culture to one of being employer of choice, provider of choice, and, most of all, delivering care with kindness. The CLS methods and philosophy have been utilized for 35 years and implemented in hundreds of healthcare networks across North America. To be honored and recognized for being an inspiring leader in healthcare among hundreds of leaders speaks to the effort and culture change shift occurring at FHW that Dr. Klein is committed to.

“It’s both humbling and a great honor to receive this award,” Dr. Klein said. “Leading such a great organization is my privilege and I look forward to the future of healthcare at Family Health West.”

Dr. Klein is a leader who walks the talk, Lori said. She goes on to say, Dr. Klein became CEO in August of 2019 and seven months later we were in the thick of a pandemic that impacted our organizational operations for more than two years. Through it all, Dr. Klein proved himself to be a leader who will do what it takes to get the job done – with a smile on his face. From the first COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Mesa County where he personally administered vaccines, to being continually on the front lines of keeping operations moving forward for FHW, Dr. Klein demonstrated he is a servant leader. He has created loyalty and engagement amongst staff that is hard to find in healthcare today. He is part of every Service Excellence event and it is obvious that he believes in FHW’s vision to become the Provider of Choice and the Employer of Choice.
