On February 5, 2024, the Family Health West Senior Life Solutions Program was awarded the Community Impact Award for 2023. Family Health West Hospital partners with Psychiatric Medical Care (PMC) to provide our community with the Senior Life Solutions Program.
Senior Life gets those people 65 years old and older out of the house with the ultimate goal of combating depression. The later years of life can usher in challenging life transitions, including the loss of loved ones
and stress from age-related health concerns. FHW Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions is a specialized outpatient group therapy program tailored to address the distinctive needs of individuals who may be grappling with depression or anxiety stemming from life changes commonly associated with aging. Feeling down every once in a while is a normal part of life, but if these feelings last a few weeks or months, you may be dealing with something more serious. That’s where FHW Senior Life Solutions can help!
Whitney Feldman, Senior Regional Director with PMC, came out from Iowa to present Glenda and her team with this award today. When PMC thinks of its 130+ programs across the country, the growth and depth of what Glenda and her team have built in the last year rise to the top.
“This program has flourished in the last year,” Whitney Feldman said. “We knew the potential was out here (to grow this program) and we have people who want to find them, connect with them, and make a difference.”
Glenda said, “It is such an honor to serve the seniors in our community. Receiving this award validates what we are doing is resulting in a positive impact for our seniors.”
Background: PMC partners with more than 250 hospitals and health systems nationwide to provide behavioral healthcare services. Top-performing employees and Senior Life Solutions programs from around the country are recognized annually based on their excellence in demonstrating the program’s values of care, compliance, and community. Award recipients demonstrate outstanding patient care, excellent comprehension and execution of compliance regulations, and strong community engagement.
