Where To Turn for Help

Hope is here for children with Autism or behavioral challenges and other neurodivergent disorders.

The Autism Group offers individual and group treatment in a carefully designed environment created to help your child thrive and your family gain the necessary support and skills. Our comprehensive programming is designed to serve kids with autism, kids who struggle significantly to speak and make their needs known, or kids who have challenging behaviors or difficulty with basic life skills.

Our Autism Therapy Center offers individual and family support in a carefully designed environment to help your child thrive and your family adapt successfully. The therapy center includes a sensorimotor station, a gathering place, and a gross motor area. Our therapists specialize in Autism spectrum disorders. We are child and whole-family-centered, and we welcome you into our community.

Take heart. You will find your place here. Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are more common than you may realize, and continual advancements in therapy and treatment will help your child reach their full potential. Solutions begin with a proper diagnosis followed by a plan individualized to your child’s unique needs and personality.

Our skilled therapists treat a broad range of diagnoses, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Social communication disorder
  • Executive skill dysfunction
  • Sensorimotor impairment
  • Challenging behaviors
  • Anxiety
  • Social skill impairment

A Program as Unique as You Are

Our Pediatric Rehabilitative Therapy clinic operates as uniquely as your child. Conveniently located in Fruita, we are in the heart of Western Colorado, often offering services only found in Denver and Salt Lake City. Our approach to therapy includes individual and group sessions, along with co-treatment from multiple disciplines like speech and occupational therapy.

Built for Caring Collaboration

The Autism Group was built with collaboration in mind, not only between children and therapists but also between families. Our observation stations allow parents the opportunity to watch sessions and connect with other parents in similar situations. There are several different treatment spaces, including a gross motor area, a group table-time area, a kitchen, a sensory gym, and a private treatment room, that provide variety and flexibility to treat your child in the best space possible for their specific needs.

Our team approach is designed to help your child with services that include:

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) testing
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication Evaluation
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Skills Training for families
  • Group Therapy
  • Individual Therapy

Get an Early Start

Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disability that generally appears before the age of 3. Autism and behavioral challenges are most successfully addressed when appropriate care is delivered during your child’s educational years. With early diagnosis and behavior-based intervention, children have the best chance of adapting, and long-term care resources can often be reduced.

There Is a Way

We accept all major insurance plans, but if you have insurance or financial challenges, we can help connect you with a supportive community that will offer solutions. It all starts with a referral from your pediatrician or therapist. You are strong. Don’t let anything stand in the way of getting the help you need. We care deeply about your family and child getting the support you need and will help you find a way.
